Original mid 1970s lp on Creole (CRLP 504)
The Chequers ‘Check Us Out’.
Very scarce u.k. only lp from this group of afro Caribbeans that were based in the u.k.
Wicked afro influenced funk lp with some blazing tracks that include an awesome version of ‘Get Up Stand Up’ that is a massive club bomb for the djs.Mad heavy bass line and super tight drum breaks then tight wah guitar chops and sax line with those tuff beats.There are about four more top tracks including ‘Check It Out’,’Riding High’,Theme One’,’Rock On Brother’,all with tight beats and breaks,nice fender rhodes keys and horns.This lp is a real gem and is real tuff to find.Killer club tracks for the djs and some mad beats and breaks for the beatheads and producers.
This is a white label issue so it’s even rarer than the normal issue.’Sides 1 & 2 ‘ are hand written in ink on the labels.
Record excellent(several light surface scuffs but plays mint) Sleeve near mint.
